     Auctions are a great and traditional way to sell things with a value difficult to see to common people. Nonetheless, I'm glad that I wasn't able to go to the Sotheby's and had to do this blog instead because all my doubts about prices at auctions were clarified. Understanding the 10 factors that add value to a piece of art is very important in this field, as I didn't understand why a old picture of a farm cost more that a modern photo of a beautiful skyscraper is attribute to Authenticity, condition, rarity, provenance, historical importance, size, fashion, subject matter, medium, and quality. 

     After watching the videos about auctions, I kind of understand the value of some pieces that we saw at the auction last week. However, is hard to agree that a photograph half white half black is value around USD$ 200,000 and a well shoot picture as the one of Mohamed Ali one of the best boxers of the past century was value at less than USD$ 10,000.

Carlo Keshishian: an remix from the outside.

Carlo Keshishian Looking at the above picture at the museum, I was kind of confuse about their meaning.  However, Mr. Keshishian made a effort to take multiple perspective into this theme, creating this  master piece that even looking at it and try to understand it for more than 1 hour, still let you question it. The art itself is open for many interpretation and comparision. Nonetheless, we were only able to contrast it with outsider artist Vojislav Jakić, whom drawing make some similarity to Keshishian on the way they took multiple perspective into a specific theme.

      While visiting the Transformer exhibit at the National Museum of the American Indian, there were many pieces that made me stop and think about them. However, Kevin McKenzie’s art work “Father, Son, Holy Ghost.” (2015) was one of those works that left you speechless. When I first walked into the sculpture my first impression was being very curious about what three buffalo skulls with neon lights represented. Nonetheless, perception is the base of judgement, and understanding that in a museum of American Indian, buffalos were those animals that those tribes hunted helps you realize that these skulls in a wall with neon lights was some kind of highlight of what buffalos means to this people.      After doing some research, my first analysis on the artwork was not correct 100%.
